The Road to Relentless- OHP and wings – week 3

Dang it!!!  I have a nail that just lifted and it is going to be at least a week until Devri can do new ones :/  The did so very well last time and I was hoping for the same thing this time but had a feeling it wasnt going to be when my hair started hanging up a bit.  Ah well, I glued it with some tissue glue and it actually feels pretty good right now.  Maybe tissue glue is the key to keeping them on because regular super glue sucks!

I am way behind on my water consumption today and I can definitely feel it.  I always bring out 4 bottles of water and usually drink two in the morning and two in the afternoon.  That way I know that I am getting the minimum water requirement.

I do not understand why people want to watch their beloved pets suffer unto death?   I understand that it is hard to let them go, I understand that no one wants to do it but if all they have left is pain and suffering and struggling, why do they have to go through that?  Why cant we extend grace to them to allow them to leave without the suffering?  We as people, we have to suffer to death, our pets dont have to!  So why do people make them?  Is it that they dont trust what is being told to them?  Have we as veterinarians failed to earn the clients trust?  Is there too much information on Dr Google that makes people think that their 17 year old failing yorkie is going to live for another year?  If we love them, why do we wish them to suffer for us?  Is it selfishness?  I dont know because I have not ever been there yet but my heart aches for those dying and painful pets that have to suffer through to the end.  Maybe one of you can explain it to me…….

My shoulders are going to peel from last weekends horse races!   I hate peeling!  I wish there was some way to skip over the whole process and just start over with new skin :)

The kids and I ran out to Devris house last night to take her birthday present to her.  It was good to visit with her and we visited while the kids entertained Cash.  We took the old Chevy that I had purchased as a beater truck.  It was a good time as it doesnt drive great and the radio is all crackly and we had some 80s rock n roll playing!  We made it out there and back without any issues so it was all good.  I need to get it in and have it serviced and make sure everything is good with it and that way I can drive it just because and not worry about it breaking down.

Got up at 3:50 and was at the gym about 4:20.  I cant say that I had much desire to be there and absolutely zero ability to focus or concentrate.  Some days are just like that and you have to push through and just get it done.

I have got to start doing some ab work!  I have ab straps and a bar in my bathroom door and I need to just start doing some HLRs every night.  And I need to stop eating stuff that isnt in my nutrition plan or what abs I have left wont be seen :/

The morning was good and we had the usual surgeries and a bunch of walk ins.  We started a new facebook page for the stories of the clinic pets.   It is good to have random made up stories.  We gave each of them an identity and will make up stories from the things that they do during the day.  We are all gigged up about it so like most such ideas, it will probably be something we over due for a few weeks and then forget about.  :)

We had a small 12 pound chihuahua thing come in for a mass removal that turned out to be a partially retained testicle!  It was huge.  If your dog only has one nut, get him castrated!  Retained testicles have a high rate of problems and cancer!

photo(1883)It was the size of a horse testicle!

Tomorrow morning we head to Phoenix to go to the aquarium and then Emmas belt exam and home.  Sunday after church we are going to go to Tucson to look at a hairless kitten for Zac.  Yes, I am an awesome mom :D  haha

I am going to do better this coming week and make the time to go through my emails and update my workout and have it all written out ahead of time.  I think it would be a better idea if Paul just emailed me the updated program every sunday because I am sure he has nothing better to do than babysit me!  LOL

Have a great weekend everyone, see you all monday!
