I wish I could say that I cant wait until saturday so I could get some down time but not this saturday. Emma has her belt testing for her tan belt in Gilbert and it is from 3-6pm. Blah. We will probably go up in the morning as it is a three hour drive and take the kids to Chuck E Cheese or some kid place like that and do some shopping and make it a full day event. Emma is doing very well in class so I am hoping she wont get nervous and forget her forms.
Went last night after work and watched Emma at karate and then it was the grocery store, home, dinner and bed. The epitome of what most would consider a boring life but I think is awesome :)
Up this morning begrudgingly and off to the gym.

need to go up 10# for both of these next week.
First surgery on the books today was a small yorkie that I had done an emergency c section on for a breeder a year ago. The breeder had given the dog to a gal from the phoenix area a month ago and it had developed a bladder infection and the vet there told her that the uterine stump had been left in and was abscessed. I had a hard time believing this since it had been a year since surgery and the dog had never had any issues. There was obviously a very large mass in the caudal abdomen. The only definitive way to figure out what it was was to open her up. The young gal was not bright and I knew this had disaster written all over it.
We got the dog on the table opened her up and she had a huge mass that had all the organs of the caudal abdomen adhered to it. I am not entirely sure which organ it was coming off but there was no removing it. The bowel mucous would just tear every time I tried. We called the owner and she drove back down and we ended up putting the little dog to sleep. It was hard for everyone but definitely the best thing for the little dog.
We had a dozen surgeries and they all went pretty smooth given that we were very short staffed. Jenn came in and helped for a few hours but then had to leave. We finished with the last one which was an amputation a bit before 1.
Charlie wrecking havoc with an empty surgery glove box.
The afternoon is double booked and looks like it is going to keep things bustling around here. The kids have their school program tonight at 5:30 and I hope I am out of here in time to make it.
