I am an introvert, I dont like people, I dont need to talk, I dont like conflict, I dont like to be wrong, I dont like things to be out of control. That being said, we humans are adaptable and we have a choice and regardless of what I feel or like or dont like, I can still make the choice to do things different, to do them the best way and not necessarily the right way (which is my way :) ) No real reason for this rant, just trying to settle my brain as it is chaos around here and it is driving me a bit more crazy than I already am and so this is my pep talk to not go up and lose it in front of the whole wide world
Ok, so now on to more stuff. Saturday was the first day of the horse racing season so it was up at 4:30 and out the door at 5:30 and a two hour drive to Tucson’s Rillito Park. Emma and Zac went with me because none of my employees want anything to do with me after having to work with me all week now. Geesh, they all get at least one day off, I have to work all of them so I deserve to be a bit cranky, right?
Thank the Lord the weather was AWESOME!!! It was beautiful and all the ponies kept their legs on which is a good thing because it is the first weekend! Generally breakdowns dont start until towards the end of the meet. There were only 8 races on saturday and then it was off to eat a most wonderful dinner at Sullivans Steak house! Filet Mignon Oscar style with calamari as an appetizer and a lettuce wedge salad. It was amazing!!
After I stuffed myself it was off to the motel for a shower and bed, oh sweet sleep that I needed very badly. I was asleep by 8:45 and didnt wake up until 4:45 sunday! It was awesome.
Zac and I sunday morning.
Sunday was more of the same. The weather was even nicer. Both days there was a team of Budweiser Clydesdale that came and did a little trip in front of the crowd. Saturday they went a little bit runaway! They flew by me and the guy with the driving lines was pulling for all he was worth and his eyes were the size of saucers! The ended up having to put on the brake and that was the end of the show :) Sunday they did so much better.
Sundays more controlled and everyones happy!
Sunday was only 7 races and it was on the road and home by 7 pm.
It was very hard to roll out of bed this morning and head off to the gym but what the heck, one needs to do what needs to be done.
squats heavy
I was a little bit worried about how squats would go today because my knees are really sore from all the walking on the deep uneven track this weekend. I had found my Rehband knee sleeves a few weeks ago so I put them on for my working sets and what a difference!! They made my knees all happy and therefore I was happy. I really didnt want to take them off
warmed up on the treadmill for 10 mins

Today has been a monday. I have had to walk to the back a few times and say a prayer and take a few deep breaths and walk back up front. We had another very busy morning for surgeries. One of them was an old hound that had come in the end of last week and was passing blood clots when she urinated. I kind of had a feeling it was a pyometra but it was an unusual presentation for one so we sent her home on antibiotics but she wasnt doing any better so we opened her up today and by golly, she had a huge uterus that was full of pus!
We also had another little dog that walked in and had been allegedly attacked by another dog on saturday but I am pretty sure it was a few days before that because it had so much pus and stink coming from it that we all thought we would die! I had to cut off half of its skin because it was dying and holding in all sorts of rotten stuff underneath.
After all the dead was trimmed away.
The afternoon has been busy and I am trying hard to be calm and nice, I think I am doing a pretty good job of it
