The Cube cycle 2 week 1 wave 3 – squats explosive

The weekend was good, at least what of it I can remember.  There were a ton of emergencies.  They seem to work that way, I wont have any for a few weeks and then boom, they are never ending!   Friday night about midnight I had a standard poodle with a GDV, gastric dilatation and volvulus, where the stomach flips on itself.  The people had no money and opted to euthanize.  Then there was this guy who was driving from Georgia and called about 1 am when he was 250 miles away to tell me his dog had bloody diarrhea and when he got into town he wanted to bring it in.  250 miles away at 1 in the morning, I dont need to know!!  He didnt get into town until after 6.  The dog ended up having heartworms and they left it to be treated.  She has responded well and will be going home tomorrow.

Sunday was church and a ton of emergencies afterwards.  We had another GDV come in this one a pointer dog from Lakeside.  The dog is old and we did surgery on him but his stomach was compromised and part of the spleen.  He has been in respiratory distress all day and we xrayed his lungs and it looks like he has a pulmonary embolism from a blood clot.  We are treating him for it but I am not sure how he will do given his age :(

Got to bed early and had no desire to get up this morning as the weekend just seemed way too short.  But up at 4 and out the door after 5.

Squats explosive

walked on the treadmill for a nice warm up.  I dont know why I ever stopped but glad I am back to doing it as it makes my workout so much better.  It just doesnt pay to be lazy!

I tried to be explosive but I am not very good at it.

I totally sucked at these.  Who knew they were so incredibly difficult!!  My dad suggested I do them and then I read an article on T Nation that talked about them and one guy said dont waste your time and the other expert said to do them for mobility reasons.  I can definitely see how they would help ones mobility but no way can you do, or at least that I can do, any amount of weight with them.

It has been complete chaos at the clinic today.  It is almost 6 and we are finally done.
