“Less is More” week 2 – squats

Blah I am tired and my patience is soooo low this week!  I did forget to mention that last night I FINALLY got on the treadmill and walked at a 12% incline at 4.0 mph for 16 minutes and it about killed me!!  I used to do this before every workout but when I switched to working out at 6 am I just didnt have the time to spare so it has been about a year since I have done much cardio and I could dang sure tell!

One would think that doing a physical job and working out and being active that doing such measly work wouldnt be that big of deal but man, were my legs ever aching when I was done!  I have decided that I am going to try to do 15 mins every day M-F which would give me over an hours worth of cardio for the week.  Not the best but certainly better than what I have been doing for the past year!

So I rolled out of bed at 4:30 and headed off to the gym before 6.

Squats are continuing to feel better each week.  I still need to get a little lower and need to keep my chest up a bit more when I get tired but overall I am very happy with the form especially considering what I usually look like with my squats!

Surgery was busy busy busy today and we didnt even get done with all of them and had to finish the last one which was a front leg amputation this afternoon!  We had womens fellowship at noon and so that makes for a rushed morning as well.

Last friday we had this little boxer mix dog come in that had gotten its leg tangled in its rope and was sloughing off half of its foot.  I put it in a poultice pad the first night and then switched to this equine mud stuff and oh my goodness, it is amazing what it has done to this foot.  I was able to easily remove the necrotic bones and tissue and it is healing amazingly well!

photo(296)today, day 4!  It looks so wonderful!  The dog was supposed to go home today but apparently the owner “forgot” all day until just now or something.   So I will get to take one more picture tomorrow for a final showing of how wonderful it is doing thanks to this wonderful mud stuff!
