Skiba’s Gym

This past weekend I flew across the country to deliver a little bulldog pup named Betsy to Henri and Ellen Skiba.   A year and a half ago I had sent them a bulldog that we had raised here at the clinic named Flash, now known as Bruno, after I had read a story about their beloved bulldog Yogi passing away.   They had recently mentioned wanting a friend for Bruno so when one of Brunos sisters came in to be bred and the owner wanted to trade out the c section for a pup, I immediately thought of the Skiba’s.

We picked out little Betsy when she was 5 days old and they brought her in to the clinic when she was 6 weeks old.  She was so tiny and our schedule was busy and I wanted her to have a few vaccines before stressing her to fly her across the country so she hung out with Jenn and then at the clinic until she was all ready to go.

I left after work on Thursday to head up to phoenix as my flight was supposed to leave at 10 the next morning.  Little Betsy was an awesome little trooper and made the trip great.

The next day we got to the airport and of course everybody loved her because she is a little bulldog pup!  Our flight got delayed an hour and a half!  :(   After an hour I finally took her out of her crate and put her on the seat beside me where she got even more attention!

Saturday Henri and Ellen were very nice to take me to the big city to see what New York was all about.  It was nice to be able to go and I can now say that I have gone but I found the people way more interesting to look at than the actual “sites”.

And that was enough for me.  I have been and Im good now :)

Sunday was gym day and a chance for some one on one training in squats and bench.  I was very excited because I have never had the opportunity to actually have someone else tell me hands on what I need to do.

Monday before I left we had a dead lift session and it was great.  It was the first time I had ever deadlifted with chains and I liked it a lot.

Thank you so much Henri for all your help and your friendship!  There is not a nicer and more sincere person out there!

I flew home monday and have not yet made it to the gym as I am wore out!  One more day of rest and then back at it on friday for some arms and OHP!
