Yesterday was monday and yes, I know that everybody dreads mondays but I generally like them. Why? Well because we have a million things to do in the time it would take to do half a million things and I like to be busy. So we had our regularly scheduled surgeries which were like 9 or so and then 2 orthopedic surgeries that had come in late on friday. One of them was a tiny chihuahua that had busted the end of his femur off and I ended up having to amputate it and then there was a hound that had gotten kicked by a cow and had a broken tibia. There are generally 50 million walk ins and sick animals that come in on Mondays and yesterday was no exception. This put us getting started on the tibial repair at 1pm!
Thank goodness that bones are so forgiving as I had to take several attempts at getting proper placement in the proximal fragment piece. It took forever and I really struggled with it and there are several things that arent quite proper with it BUT the dog is doing fantastically on it and is walking on it and the fracture line was very stable. It always freaks my office manager out when I post that I have done something wrong but everybody makes mistakes and recognizing it and admitting it are the biggest part of the battle against pride!
The rest of the day was a blur of constant activity and running around like a crazy person. Got done at the office and I dont remember much other than just wanting to go to bed.
Up, barely, at 4:30. I really wanted to stay in bed but I knew that I wouldnt be able to sleep anyway knowing that I should be in the gym so I just got up and got ready!

I ran out of time so there were no good mornings but will try and be better rested next week and get them accomplished.
Today has not been too bad. Our surgery schedule was full and we had lots of walk ins but we were done by 11:30 and so Devri and I made it to womens fellowship at the church. The afternoon has been not too bad. We only had about 6 appointments on the books but have had several other things come in as well so it has been busier than it looks. All I can say is I am ready to go home and sleep again!
