The weekend is over and it was good as far as I can remember. Saturday David and I had a funeral to attend, well, I attended and David officiated and preached. We actually took a picture together!! We are generally never dressed up at the same time in the same place so before he left I made him take one with me.
Sunday was church and a potluck afterwards. That took most of the day and then I came home and took a nap and then had to do an emergency c section on a cute little boston terrier. We celebrated Christmas last night because Bri was flying back to visit her mom today and so all the kids decided that an early celebration was way better than one that is weeks later.
Went to bed later than I had intended and David had to get up at 1 ish so they could leave by 2 am. I kind of sort of slept some after that and got out of bed a bit before 4.
I was a complete pig this weekend and so I figured that I would have an awesome workout :) I am dreading tomorrows weigh in though
squats heavy
given it is a bit cold and I was not smart last week and didnt properly warm up before deads and almost injured myself, I walked on the treadmill at a 15 degree angle at 3 mph for 8 mins for a warm up and it felt great!!
squats
*45# for 15
*95# for 10
*115# for 5
*135# for 3
*155# for 1
*175# for 1
*185# for 3 sets of 2
these felt good and I felt like I was getting decent depth on them.
front squats
*135# for 5 sets of 3
good mornings
*95# for 4 sets of 10
incline situps
*35# for 2 sets of 20
The kids are out of school so it makes for a bit less stress first thing in the morning as I dont have to get them to get their lunches ready and shoes on and stuff for after school activities gathered.
We had a very busy morning and our stupid phones were not working! We got this new system and have had nothing but trouble with it. It drops calls, it breaks up, it wont pick up. I hate it and if they dont get it fixed they will be taking out their whole system and giving me my money back!!!
We got done with surgeries after 12:30 and started back up with appointments at 1:30. The lobby has been completely packed and it has been busy, way busier than I thought it would be this close to Christmas. On the positive side, I have had several resumes turned in for the associates position. Most of them by fourth year veterinary students which is to be expected and wont get me help until the middle of next year but at least there is the potential for help to be on the way. I can do anything that needs to be done knowing that one day, some day, there will be some help :) The most interesting thing has been that I have had two local people apply. Yes, two people who are not veterinarians that have applied for a veterinary position. Obviously there is still much ignorance to the fact that it is a post graduate doctorate degree.
We have a horse coming, hopefully they are actually coming, from an hour away that called right at 4 and their horse has been sick for five days and they just now decided that they should try and get it in. Makes me very crabby that people have no respect for anyone elses time!! If your horse has been sick for 4 days, call in the morning and not at the end of the day GRRRRRRRR
