There is something that most people dont get, life isnt fair!  It has never been fair, it never will be fair, so you might as well just get over the whole fair thing!  Just had to say that :)   Drives me crazy people whining about how unfair everything is!  And generally it is the lazy SOBs who dont do anything that are sitting on their behinds complaining about it!

Ok, so where were we?  Yes, the last day of the first wave of 5/3/1.  Got up at 4:30 and headed out to the gym by 6.

OHP and arms

OHP

*75%- 75# for 5

*80%- 80# for 5

*85%- 85# for 5

Holy moly these were tough!  I dropped my 1RM from 120# to 100# because I was supposed to do 90#,95# and 100# all for 5 and I knew that there was no way I could get 100# for 5 so rather than screwing myself all up, I dropped weight and I was glad that I did because I barely got 85# for 5!  Somedays are just like that.

*50%- 50# for 5 sets of 10 with 30 sec rest

these were a killer!  My shoulders were burning bad by the last couple of sets but I suppose that is what it is all about!

V bar pushdowns

*70# for 5 sets of 10; 20 secs rest between sets

HLRs

It was a pretty typical day at the clinic with a busy surgery schedule and a bunch of walk ins.  The only really interesting thing was an old pitbull that came in that ended up having a very large tumor in its abdomen that we had to do emergency surgery on.

The x ray of the mass in the upper left hand quadrant of the abdomen.  I figured it was probably a splenic tumor given its size and location.  We put a catheter in her and started fluids and antibiotics until we finished with afternoon appointments and then we got her on the surgery table.

sure enough it was a very large tumor on the tail of the spleen.  photo(422)

It weighed almost 4#!   I sent off a piece for histopathology to see what kind of tumor it is.  I suspect given the way it looked that it will be a large benign one so the dog should do well from here on out.   She is a sweet old thing and I am hopeful for her.
