5/3/1 wave 1 – deads

Wow time has a way of just getting away from a person!!  I did manage to finally get my wreck post up!  It only took me a day and a bit to get it all done!  We had one other interesting case yesterday morning.  A young male cat had disappeared on friday and the owners found him tuesday and he had two broken rear legs.  They were both distal transverse fractures but one of them had the end of one of the bones that was poking through the skin and all infected and gross.

photo(416)Ouch!!

I had to amputate the one leg because of the infected bone end and the clients have no money.  I place a pin in the other leg.

photo(405)I was pleased with how well it came out.  I am hoping that he is able to walk on his one leg alright as cats often times will get nerve impingement from IM pins.

My beautiful little Birdie went to Phoenix with her aunts to see Taylor Swift.  They had floor seating.  I have not yet heard how it was but I am sure she loved it!!

Bed at usual time and up and out at 4:30 and off to the gym before 6!

*95# for 10, 6

*80# for 10,10

*75# for 10

these were tough to keep form and still move the weight hence the reason I had to keep dropping weight!

Thankfully this morning has been pretty smooth.   Yesterday afternoon we had a client bring by this cute little pug puppy that had been returned to her.  There was something very wrong with her elbow that turned out to be dislocated.

I discussed at length the injury with the breeder and she didnt have the funds to spend on getting her fixed so she gave her to us to fix and find a home for.

This morning we sedated her and I spent 20 minutes overcoming the bodys attempt at stabilization and finally got it back around to where it was supposed to be.  I am not sure how well it do, only time will tell and if need be I will just amputate but for now it is where it is supposed to be and she has on a miniature spica splint!!

A year ago I had never done a spica splint and now I seem to be doing them every few months.

We decided to call her Spica :)

photo(411)She is very stinking cute and has a great personality!  I am really hoping that the elbow stays where it is supposed to and she will do well without too much arthritis!
